mesquite nv rides? 1 year, 11 months ago #94252

group of friends are headed to mesquite next weekend. looking for some advice on good day rides in the area?

we like all kinds of rides, but really enjoy technical rocky terrain, and of course single track.

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance...

Mesquite is pretty easy to get around & find your way home. Get off I-15 at the north Mesquite exit go west to the first light then turn north up past the Eurika Casino. Stay right & park near the interstate just north of all of the houses. Run north all they way to the next town, or go under I-15 (large water pipes) & go to the Virgin river, or go west along the golf courses. Lots of open areas to play. If you go past the light off the the I-15 you can go out towards the landfill (ask for directions) park along the road once you get past all of the houses & head west towards the big hill climb. You can go west past the landfill & hill climb & more open areas. You can get to the landfill by going all the way around the golf courses but you will cross a lot of washes.

This is a shot of the hillclimb by the landfill. If you go go google earth & then go west out of town you can see a long asphalt road. a the end of the asphalt there is a water treatment plant & the landfill. this shot is about 1 mile south of the water treatment plant.

We just got back from Vegas last week & we rode Laughlin. There is a lot more singel track desert style stuff there but it is about 75 miles south east of Vegas & takes about 1 hour to drive it. You can stay in Laughlin but less hotes & stuff to do than Vegas. Laughlin has less big open hilclimbs & is more rocks (decomposed granite) less sandy washes & the washes are more narrow. Both areas have good riding.

I've been to that exact hill climb by the landfill. It's a nasty one (not difficult....just steep and looong). Lots of sand there. We had more fun in Warner Valley, but was fun to try something different.

Is this Ross? This is Matt, sticks buddy. Met up with ya at the concert?...your ooking for day rides head into logandale, Directions are as follows

Directions – ollow I-15 to Logandale exit number 93. Turn right on Liston Drive (3.3 miles on SR 169 from I-15) immediately after Post Office. Follow road 5.6 miles to trails system. Logandale is past mesquite about 30 miles or so.

There is sand washes, slick rock, desert terrian. Its a pretty fun place, also i like warner valley in Hurricane is awesome and Sand Hollow is fun to..

There is also a canyon east of Mesquite we always ride, I belive its called Lime klin canyon, lots of high speed desert
