Our thoughts & prayers will be with him. We hope the embolism will dislodge itself & he wakes up & can return to Utah soon.
Take it easy.

Well I guess I'll fill everyone in on how it happened. I didn't make it on the California trip this year. Jon went with my brother and two cousins to the Riverside area to ride the tracks. They left on January 26th. On Friday the 29th they were at Racetown 395 where there are a few different tracks. They were riding what's called the stadium cross track (sort of arenacrossish)where there was a triple right out of a corner. Jon got a little hung up in the corner but still decided to go for the triple. It wasn't a real big jump, so I don't think it was necessarily bad judgement on his part to go for the jump, things just went bad for him. He came up short an wadded it. My brother has the crash on film. I haven't seen it yet so this is all second hand info mind you. I'll post the video when I get my hands on it as long as everyone thinks it's ok. It really wasn't a bad crash.

When the EMTs got there Jon knew he had a broken leg but was in great spirits, laughing and joking. When they asked him what happened he told them "I fell off a ladder at work!" He took a chopper to the hospital and it was sometime between then and Saturday morning that the fatty embolism worked it's way to where it shouldn't have been and caused the stroke.

All of us Lechtenbergs' are real scared and of course hope for the best. Jon has a long road to recovery ahead of him. We have thought about setting up his shop at Wintercross next week and accepting donations for him. Even with good medical insurance, this is going to be expensive. on has done a lot for the motorcycle community and it would be great to show him some support. I'll keep you posted on our plans for support.

That is terrible news. I hope everything works out ok. Jon really is the nicest person I have met in a long time. He has always done what ever he can to help other riders. If you do set up something at wintercross please let us know, I will be there for sure. Linda, if there is anything you or the family needs please let me/us know, Jon has a lot of friends here that would love to help.

Horrible news. I heard about the trip to Cali, but didn't hear about the crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jon and his family.

Linda/Lech, we're leaving for Cali tonight. Planning on riding either Racetown or Milestone tomorrow. Let me know if there is anything you need help with. I'd say we'd stop by the hospital, but if he's still out, not sure they'd let us in.

Get well soon Jon - we're pulling for you.

Nate, I think setting up for donations is a fantastic idea and if I were there would help that happen in any way.

Just got off the phone with Jons mom Linda, and was told that everything is about the same as yesterday.
She said that if anything changes that she will give me a call.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and widely promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Local,

When you heal up, stick to the desert for a while and stop jumping.
