MotoUtah: Motocross and Off-Road Riding in Utah

At the Rhino my bike started to cut out for the last 20-30 miles of the race I could not give my bike more than half throttle or it would die... It kept getting worse, then the bike would die.. I would start it back up it would run good for 45 seconds then it would keep cutting out until it would die again. I would then start it and the same thing would happen... At the end of the race the guy in front of me asked if my bike was fuel injected.. It is the bike is a 2010 crf250.. he told me I needed to replace the fuel filter inside the tank... ANYONE know this to be true????? Thanks

Have the dealership check the wiring harness to make sure it is not grounded out. That happened to my 09 450r and it was a bugger to figure out.

I would say its the fuel filter. Had to change one at work on a 09 crf450 and my 09 probley needs a new fuel filter as well.

I have owned 4 dif brands and they all seem to need alot of work to keep goin..

The same thing happen to my friends Cannondale, yes Cannondale. And it was a bad ground. If your bike is a 2010, I assume you don't have a whole lot of hours on it, so why would a fuel filter clog up that quick? unless your using a crappy brand gas or something.

It only takes on tank of bad fuel to mess up the fuel filter's in these efi bikes.
The honda part # for the fuel filter kit is 06160-men-a30.

you should always run premium through your bikes. i wont run anything else.

Sounds like a plugged gas tank vent. If you remove the gas cap, does it work better for a while?
