TOPIC: Race prep

Race prep 1 year, 5 months ago #104215

What do you guys do to get ready for a race? I've been running and doing cardio to try and help with endurance. I've also heard about drinking half to a gallon of water a day for a week before the race so you're hydrated. But what else? Any help would be great!

I've been doing the Rower at my gym, alternating distances and intensity.

Love the punishment so far...

I always eat bananas before races for the potassium. It helps your muscles recover!

6 minutes a day with this thing and you will "pounding out" the miles. It's based on SCIENCE FACT!

I've heard those Concept 2 rowers do a pretty good job as well. I would love to have one.

The biggest thing that has helped me is riding bicycles. They will help with your cardio and endurance as well as the balance that is needed for racing.

Also hydrating the week of the race is very important drinking a gallon of water per day. I also take an electrolyte supplement the week of the race it is called "nuun".
