MotoUtah: Motocross and Off-Road Riding in Utah

I need some help with some triple clamps. I am 6'2" tall and I really need some triple clamps to get the bars up and away from me while Im riding. My question is: the triple clamps i am looking at come in 22mm offset and 24mm offset. which one would i need and why. Keep in mind I am fairly tall.

Let me add. I am a desert rider and i stand up alot. so im trying to accomplish a more comfortable stance as I ride.

if your dez rider and are doing high speeds and alot of sand and deep dirt u should stick to 24mm offsett.as far as standing up u would want tall bars for one,and a top clamp that has adjustable mounting positions.Pro taper makes a variety of clamps that have multiple mounting spots so you can move the clamps away from you to open up the cockpit for a taller longer armed rider.

Changing your offset will not affect how comfortable your stance is when you ride. It will however change the weight of your wallet, it will be much lighter. What kind of bike do you ride? I am 6' 4" and run KX high bend in a Pro Taper Contour bar. I also run a SDG tall firm seat and I do a foot peg mod that lowers and moves them back slightly. This will really open the bike up for you and make it much easier to go from a sitting to a standing position when you ride.

thanks for the insite. Jb in answer to your question, I ride a crf450x. i would love to know what your foot peg modification is. I did that on a yzf I had and was great. that would most likely fix the problem. Otherwise I will try the 24mm offset like the other guy recommended.
