NEED TO START A NEW BAN..... aaarrrrrrggggg 4 Months ago Karma: 2
Man I am sooooooooooo pissed today. There seems to be no end in sight to this BS on closing down riding areas and shutting down tracks. This is just absolute Bull__it, and I'm just getting burned out on it. Actually what I want to do or what I'd like to see happen is a huge movement towards shutting down everything fun. That's right I said it, shut it all the F down, if I can't have my dirt bike riding then no one can have squat. I say shut down those ski resorts, ya they not only cause massive pollution but they also devastate the mountain scenery. And horseback riding needs to be done away with, ya I grew up on a farm and I'm well aware of what it takes to feed and raise stupid horses. We're talking about thousands of gallons of diesel fuel to raise a crop of alfalpha, sorry but it's got to go. What amount of energy does it take to make bicycles and get them to the stores where they are bought, sorry but that's a waste of fossil fuel, gotta go. Oh and if you think your TV is safe, think again. That to requires vast amount of energy and must be done away with, we all want to save this planet for future generations right? From now on, we shall all walk to work and during our "off time" we must play games like kick the rock or some lame retarded ______!!!
Yes, we need a new movement, it can be called the ANAL RENTENTIVE MOVEMENT to beat all ANAL MOVEMENTS. Let's vote someone in office that can write a bill that bans all things that are noisy or cause any level of pollution, that even means the hippy tree humping Prius owners will have to walk.
This crap is so out of hand that I think the only real way to fight back is to attack everything until people wake the F up!!
Off my soap box now, and I appologize if anyone is offended...........

Problem of voting someone in that believes in what we believe in ends as soon as these freaking lobbist get their dick skinners in them!Numbers count,IF all of us recreationist<<<<<WORD?stand up and be counted and tell these buttheads what we want!I still believe if we had the fortitude and back bones that the people had in the 1940s(my parents generation)we would not be in this situation!AJP knows and sees what is coming and if we do not stand up and shoulder our loads we will be the rats in our cages shining our used to be recreation vehicles! One voice can be turned off, millons are heard, lets voice people!

I understand the feelings behind the rant!

I don't know if people are just too busy or what to get involved. I do believe, though, that many believe that others will stand up for their rights/take the necessary action, so they don't have to bother.

Unfortunately, we moto guys are a minority and I think it hurts us that our advocates (e.g. USA-ALL, BRC and others) are separate groups so we aren't 100% unified. Example...for mountain bikers, there is IMBA. Thats it! One voice for them all. Sure...if multiple groups all fight together such as against the Red Rock Wilderness Bill, it looks better that multiple groups oppose it, but each group's resources are diluted and perhaps there is duplication of effort.

I know Wrfk's message was tongue in cheek, but clearly the only way to discourage closures is to stay involved with our local officials. I know many MU readers are involved. So are a bunch of ThumperTalk readers and ADV readers too. It seems like its the folks who aren't on these forums that we need to reach.

How do we do it?? I think clubs are one way. Make access issues a point for each meeting. Unfortunately, can you believe that in Denver there is not 1 dirt bike club for me to join?? I don't get it! You Utah guys have a bunch of them! The closest I know of is in Loveland (about an hour north of here). We also have a good group in Grand Junction, but that is 4 hours from my home.

I'm gonna post again on TT to see if there is any interest in a Denver club.

Could we just figure a way to ban stupidity then every stupid comment or idea that came out of their mouth would be illegal and we could punish them for it.

On a serious note could we just sue them claiming a civil rights case i mean you hear of a lot of really stupid civil liberty cases why not us suing them because they are infringing on my rights to public lands

If i could do it all over again i would have became a lawyer so i could protect our rights and not the blue state hippie lovers ideas of what we should do with our lives

Hey Gene... nice rant! My feelings exactly. Unfortunately neither our federal or state government is looking out for the interests of the people, instead it's run by ideologs and sell-outs (think lobbiest bribes and legislative extortion... ie. a special $100 billion to new orleans for a healthcare bill vote). Forget about the bickering between the two parties. Trust me, both will sell us down the river (oops now I'm on the watch list ). The real problem is only a really, and I mean really, big voting block, can make much difference in the long run.

For the short run, I agree 100% with AJP and the rest of the local moto-activists. Do as much as you can to work with the local BLM and Forrest Service to try and keep what we've got.

... there, that's my rant. Enjoy!

- Eric
